Hello,

DC is a great file commander. But theres one big problem: the speed of copying files is in compare to Total Commander very slow (17 seconds instead of 4 seconds). I tried different buffer-sizes, but no change. What can be the reason?

(copying of the content of a zip-file, maybe its the (un)packer?)

If you unpack from zip then buffer size setting has no effect on that. Maybe you can connecting external archiver (like 7z) to handle zip files instead of the zip plugin (which I assume you are using).

There are also time-differencies with unpacked files:

example is a folder with 450 MB (Windows ME)

DC 2 min 20 sec
TC 0 min 55 sec

Someone has been experimenting with different copy methods at the Russian forum. There were some initial tests done, but I don't know the conclusions. They all seem to have their pros and cons.

I wanna say sorry, here with an uncompressed file it really depends of the buffer size, with 256 the speed is much faster, result is now 1:32

Thanks for all the work on this fine file-manager.
