Hello, I've been following the development of Double Commander and I really like it. From time to time I test dev versions and enjoy every improvement... Right now I'm using 0.46 Alpha - Revision 2302.

I love Total Commander and of course Double Commander, but there's a file manager program I really enjoy too and it would be awesome if Double Commander introduces such feature...

There's a Freeware called Q-Dir which is a file manager and sports a cool 4-view screen. I find it very useful because I'm constantly navigating across A LOT of directories and the tabs are not enough sometimes...

Q-Dir not only sports the 4-view screen but also the tabs, that gives me enough places to work very comfortably... So it would be really nice if Double Commander had such a cool 4-view feature!

Q-Dir site: http://www.softwareok.com/?seite=Freeware/Q-Dir

... As a second request I'd like Double Commander to be able to decompress .rar and 7-zip files... I repeat, de-compress... At least 7-zip which is an Open Source format.

Thanks
tuqueque.

at least unrar comes with Double Commander by default.

Thanks LaBero...

Another suggestion I have for Double Commander would be Drag-n-Drop from and to other applications. Ass soon as I try to drag a file outside the DC window, I get an error and a crash.

...I'm almost sure this is not a bug but a feature in progress to be fully supported though.

No, this is a bug. Since v0.4.5 drag&drop is fully supported. Are you using Win7 by any chance?

If you get any crashes it's best to report them (especially with 0.4.6 since it gives a nice backtrace).

Hello cobines... Thanks for clearing it up...

I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate x64... And Double Commander (alpha) 0.4.6 Revision 2364M

Oh, and the crash only happens when I try to drag a file outside the DC screen... It works OK if I drag a file from another application (e.g. Q-Dir) onto DC.

The error I get before the actual crash is the following (extracted from the .err file):

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----- 08-02-2010, 20:32:09 -- DC v0.4.6 alpha Rev. 2364M -- x86_64-Win64-win32/win64 -----
Unhandled exception: EAccessViolation: Access violation
Stack trace:
$000007FEFDE25840 in C:\Windows\system32\SHELL32.dll
