Is there any reference in the wiki or anywhere else about who is working on what? If there isn't any it would be nice to make one, as right now it is not very easy to know what to do.

In any case, I would like to start doing one of these things if no one is working on them:
  • Complete quick search / quick filter, as I think there are some features missing
  • Separate every category from options form into a different frame (following the work started by Alexx2000)

But if there are any other (more urgent) thinks to do, I am open to start with them first.

I also want to create a port of DC for FreeBSD ports, so people can easily install it as the rest of software. But for this I need to read a lot of documentation... and is somewhat external to DC's development itself.

It would be nice, yes. Maybe there is something like a project task manager on SourceForge, where you create project tasks and assign to people. It would make a very nice TODO list too.
Or we could just make it on Wiki too.

At least needed is option for quick filter to work on directories/files/directories+files. And a case-insensitive option.

Actually I started doing that just yesterday :)

ok, I will take a look at the tools provided by SourceForge to see if there is anything like that

I have created a new thread to talk about this, so I can start working on it.

Here are hosted apps:

I tried TaskFreak but didn't like, dotProject demo is offline now.
We could as well use a bug tracker, I guess, like Mantis or Trac.
Wiki is good too, but there would be a need for things like filtering and searching which would have to be done by hand on Wiki.

Agree, I think we could use Mantis for it (it is already activated for project, simply I do not show it now).

Is it possible to setup some separate project, or category so that only selected people can there create issues and can have them assigned? I don't think it should become another bug-tracker.

I'll see whether is possible to make it.

UPD:

As I see it can be done. I changed configuration so only selected user groups can create issues now.

So is there going to be a migration of the issues to Mantis, while keeping a "private" section for tasks, or there will be two issue trackers (the one from SourceForge and Mantis filtered only for tasks)? Having two may be a bit confusing to people....

About dotProject: I have been testing a bit but it is more a replacement for everything (it includes tasks, tickets, forum, ...), so yes, it may be better to use Mantis instead.

No, the old bugtracker would remain. Mantis would be available only for developers for tasks, so that there is no confusion. (well , maybe for reading it will be for all)

ok, better if it is available for all in read mode, so new developers can know what is being done and what can they do
