I like very much double command, but when I change directories my panels are flashing to a gray color, while it read directory nodes. This gray color last from 0.1 to 1 sec. Is there any way to avoid it (linux mint 13 mate) ?

This is fixed in 0.5.5 version (you can try nightly builds)
